A novelty cotton print in rainbow gradient outline on a clean white ground — outlines only, no fill, with the linework progressing through the full spectrum (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet) across the cloth. The white ground is doing real work: a coloured ground would tip the cloth into chaos; the white keeps it composed. The H silhouette frames the print as deliberate panels of motif, the symmetry of the H holding the rainbow rhythm steady across the chest. White stitching keeps the lines clean. One of three Cockadoodle pieces in the Alpha 30 — the H, X, and Y silhouettes in this same cloth — and the most disciplined of the trio. Festival cloth that did its colour homework.
