H Harness — Light Blue & White Preppy Stripe (Tie Cloth)
A cotton twill in cornflower and cream — even-width horizontal stripes, woven not printed, with the diagonal grain of the twill catching the light at angles. The preppy stripe in its honest summer register, more deck chair than tie cloth, more boat club than boardroom. As an H Harness in the Alpha 30.
Yarn-dyed cotton twill in cornflower and warm cream, the stripe rhythm laid into the warp at even widths and the diagonal twill grain visible at angle in the highlights. The cloth has the lineage of cotton awning stripe — French market awnings, English boating clubs, summer-weight workwear — woven the way deck-chair canvas has been woven for a century. The H silhouette holds the stripes parallel to the strap edges, the geometry framing the cloth's discipline cleanly across the chest. White stitching keeps the lines clean against the print. Sourced via Dalston Mill Fabrics in Hackney as genuine deadstock — a finite vintage remnant, no more being made anywhere. The summer cloth in the Tie Cloth collection: gentler than the navy-and-gold cabled stripe (#13), more domestic than the regimental (#26), an unfussy preppy cousin to both.
